Magasin du Nord
In 1879, Wessel and Vett registered the name Magasin du Nord and bought the Hotel du Nord in 1889 with surrounding properties - and in 1893 a new department store stood facing Kongens Nytorv ready according to the Parisian model.
Magasin's own brands have been an important part of Magasin's identity, just as Magasin has produced many of its own products over time - especially in clothing.
A sure harbinger of Christmas, ever since Magasin du Nord was founded, Magasin du Nord's traditional Christmas decoration has been and continues to be.
Mads Nørgaard
Copenhagen
The story of Nørgaard begins with Mads Nørgaard's grandfather and father, who both had clothing stores on Strøget.
Since then, Mads Nørgaard establishes his own clothing brand Mads Nørgaard Copenhagen, and in 1986 Mads opens his first store - right next to his father's store on Strøget.
Shortly after the opening, Mads starts designing his own clothes, which are displayed in the fashion house's showroom on Strøget. Both stores are then merged and sell fashion clothing for men and women.
Today, Mads Nørgaard Copenhagen has both men's, women's and children's clothing on the shelves.
Hotel d'Angleterre
Hotel d'Angleterre was established in 1755 and is a legendary Copenhagen institution famous for its elegance, luxury and style.
The hotel has undergone a transformation and, based on the site's rich history, has been relaunched as a revitalized grand palais.
